Nice afternoon sky adds a bit to this image. VIA 6763 the lone unit on what I have marked as a #77. It is a Tuesday, it looks around 1800hrs and there is still a lot of time before sunset. This engine was retired by 1989 but has been preserved.
For those of you out of province and not familiar with the area; the westbound train is stopped at Burlington West station (station signals can be seen over third coach from the end) and the two tracks closest to me are of the Halton Sub, as I am standing near where the line branches off the Oakville Sub heading toward CN Mac yard.

  1. Where is she in preservation?

  2. Steamtown, I believe.

  3. I know exactly where you are standing young fella :-)
Shouldn’t you be over by the station waiting for a “flimsie” :-)

  4. I still wish I did a photo from this side with a train. I tried it once… (from the fence of the club at left).

The station shot I have is good.. but train didn’t fit.

  5. I just shot here the other day…only the 2nd time I did so. I wouldn’t dare trying on the north side where you were standing nowadays.

  6. It was routine to shoot from over on the ‘north’ side years ago. I wouldn’t think of it now either. We used to cross tracks a long way to the west of this spot and walk up. Now, I don’t even go into the area.
