Caption: Niagara-bound VIA train 97 has VIA 6412 (F40PH-3) leading Amtrak P42dc AMTK 108 and five Metroliner coaches out of Aldershot station on track 2 at 10:18 AM, about an hour and a quarter behind schedule.
To Amtrak this is train 64, normally running with all-Amtrak equipment to final destination New York City. It appears that AMTK 108 has a problem this day, so VIA 6412 will lead train 97 at least as far as Niagara Falls Ontario.
Note the distance between Aldershot station and its platforms; with Track 1 now dedicated to CN freight, VIA trains use middle platform 2-3, while platform 4 serves GO Transit's pocket track.
The orange pails and boards mark a work site above a small creek / drainage channel that runs under the tracks.

6412 came back on the year of the Toronto-bound train later that day
#97 is sitting on track 2 of the Oakville Sub. The track to the right of the train is #1 and the track with the cones on either side is JC30 in Aldershot yard.
The pocket track is not considered a fourth track by the railway.
#1 and #2 tracks are 8 feet apart, where as #3 track is farther apart near the platform because of a station structure there.
You mean KA30, Phil? JC30 is Port Rob.
Oops! Right you are CNCNDR. One year away from my beloved locomotives and I fall to pieces
