Never was a fan of these Bombardier products. Most of them were not around all that long, having been plagued with maintenance problems. Even without the sun, you can’t miss with a classic Hamilton West shot; old searchlights, dwarf signal and that extra tall eastbound signal on the south track. And the switch looks lined for a movement on or off the cowpath. Those LRC’s definitely were not the most attractive units. You might say, a face only a mother could love. Made them kinda likeable in a way.

Sharp eye, Aitch. The switch being open to the Cowpath means likely “The Nanticoke” was on the way or just thru; meaning this must be the afternoon VIA #84; as it is rather short.

I wondered if it was lined for 725. It had a reliable departure time from Hamilton making it a personal favourite for this newbie railfan.
