Caption: My annual trip to Fort Erie coincided with my kids going to Great Wolf Lodge again (click to see last year's glorious timing) and this year I again I took the time to see the sights I cared about while I burned a bazzilian dollars on the most expensive hotel in Canada. After dropping by at dinner to take the gang of teenagers and tweens (Wannabe Teenagers) to eat, after dinner I left as soon as I could hoping to catch H53 coming across, and I only had a few minutes to wait as the "Wabash" called the CN Harbour Draw operator for permission across. After setting off their cars in the middle of the yard, curiously they went as far west as Duff and sat there for a few minutes before reversing back to the yard - pictured here. I'd later learn they had trainees on board from the Buffalo terminal as the last of the Canadians who were still running the job were planning to retire. I am informed from my Buffalo friends the last Wabash men in the Buffalo terminal, who were all St. Thomas division crews retired at the beginning of October 2023. I'm still shocked in 2023 the NS still comes across after they terminated the joint section in 2006..

NS 6970 former NS SD60 6625 – I can’t find a pic on this site, did it ever make it to Canada under the old number?
Nice photo, I haven’t seen that view for a while.
