Multiple generations of volunteers at the Halton County Radial Railway take in the scene as Montreal & Southern Counties interurban car 107 prepares to depart towards the east loop, passing London & Port Stanley interurban car 108. The afternoon of Saturday, September 21 saw the Ontario Electric Railway Historical Association celebrate the 70th anniversary of the museum. What started with 8 railfans saving two street cars in the woods just south of Rockwood has grown into one of the largest operating museums in Canada through seven decades of dedicated volunteers.

  1. Typo on my part. L&PS 8 is on the left, not 108

  2. Jacob, thanks for posting. It was a great day indeed for Halton County Radial Railway and with the largest attendance ever. I thought it significant to memtion that Robert Sandusky was honoured, during the ceremony, and presented with ‘rail bookends’ as being the only surving founding member of HCRR. In addition to his 70 year contribution to HCRR, Bob received accolades for his photographic railway expertise, photo sharing and camaraderie.

  3. Glenn, thank you for your notes. More photos are to come from this event.

I saw you in the crowd but didn’t get over to see you. Was a great day indeed.

  4. Really nice image. And there is John!! “Hello, John”.

  5. I should have added, “John…seated”. Oops.

  6. Congrats to the HCRR! What a great operation!
