Caption: Motoring northbound in the late morning, VIA train 85 with F40PH-2 6427's faded yellow nose in the lead bears down on John Street crossing in the community of Weston. 15 minutes out of Toronto Union Station, 85 won't be stopping at the platforms of the GO train-only Weston Station pictured.
Today, the site where this station is is just a big hole in the ground: all the structures have since been demolished (including the former CN waiting room building dating to pre-GO days), a new station has been built to the south of Lawrence Ave., the track has been temporary shifted to the CP line nearby, and a large trench occupies this site as Metrolinx continues the process of lowering the rail corridor through Weston, in preparation for the Pearson Air Rail link and more frequent Kitchener (Georgetown) line GO service through the community.
