Most of us agree that very late fall thru early winter is often the most drabby time of the year for scenery. But diehards still go out hoping to see something that is interesting enough that the landscape really does not figure so much.
One such capture that left that impression on me is this photo. I guess because it is of an odd location compared to where I usually shot.
Westbound CN about to roll over the Highway 403 bridge as it rounds the bend at the old Hamilton West junction. Weak afternoon sun. Actually helps the overall scene. Closer to an evening 'sweet-light' than a 1430 hrs image.
CN 5041, 5034 and 9635 is the power. The straight SD-40 are off the roster, as are all in that series; and 9635 is now #8015 on the Rocky Mountaineer! (The two SDs were peddled off to BNSF.)

  1. Tell us how you “got” to that spot…

  2. What? And have you come after me yelling “citizen’s arrest!” ??? Nope, my secret.

  3. The transformer makes the shot! great one.

  4. Nice CN trio and not a db in the bunch. The one mast has some real height to it. :-)

  5. The freshly repainted DD CN boxcar is noteworthy. Not sure anything gets completely repainted these days!
