More Ontario Southland. Paired OSR units OSRX 182 and OSRX 378 rest in front of the Woodstock depot. I'm not sure where or how I got the symbol "OSRX" (someone is welcome to comment). The date is June 18, 2011. It is nice to see the matching paint schemes.

  1. I think it is just OSR. The “x” is used at the end of symbols for non-railway owned companies such as a leasing company.

  2. I’ll agree, the ‘X’ is for leases. But, OSR always intrigued me. They are like a Heritage line, running old locomotives, that they own – and not rebult to my knowlwdge, but doing current day operations.

  3. OS is the AAR reporting mark for Ontario Southland. OSRX was used before OSR had any track of its own. There is a cost to change initials (or other data) in UMLER and I believe older units with OSRX are still OSRX for that reason.

  4. 2014 Trackside Guide has the Ontario Soutland Railway listed as OSRX
