Caption: Marcus Stevens recently posted a "high line" image at Lake Louise; a nice afternoon shot (#48203) and that had me dig up an image from a visit there last fall. The RMRX, behind 8018 and 8911 was to pick up around 0845hrs passengers who had overnighted at Lake Louise. Seemed like a decent plan, so we are out of our hotel in time. But there is a CP eastbound blocking the way at the station. So, we grabbed a few shots of CP 8887 in and out of morning sun and a half hour or so later the bus came into the Lake Louise station lot, people got off and went over looking for the Rocky Mountain train. It was a chilly morning, and the crowd huddled around waiting for the RMRtour to show up; but as it is single track east of the station, the RMR train had to pull up on the highline to let the CP eastbound go. Then, after it departed, back up and roll down in front of the station so passengers could board. All this took more than an hour. I don't know why, but it made me chuckle that the "red carpet" was rolled out for the people to board the train in 'elegance' I guess you could call it. To me, it is just another train ride, although extravagant, I must admit, but as most passengers, not on time. :o) The image is of the CP leaving, CP 8529 end of train unit; and the sunrise was right over the Rocky Mountaineer engines, making for a rather tough image.
