Many have seen photos of the CNR Diesel shop in Hamilton, but here's the original engine servicing area during the transition from Steam to Diesel. These facilities, bult by the Great Western Railway were all razed and modernised a few years after this photo was taken.

My late father was a locomotive engineer at Hamilton’s Stuart St. yard during the 50′s and no doubt he would have operated some of the same locomotives from your photo collection.For me these photos are very special as they bring back a memorable time in my life.Thank you for sharing this outstanding collection
