Caption: Mac Yard. I always considered this to be in the community of Concord. Now I wonder if Concord even exists any more. Early in this railroad photography hobby my favourite locomotive was the GP9. I liked its clean lines, and how reliable they seemed to be. Made for great lashups out of Fort Erie, where a good number of them were based. This "roster" shot of CN 4586 worked out just right for me on a visit to Mac Yards many years ago, and although it isn't in the solid black scheme I liked, it is still a great example of what used to be. The CN 4586 was rebuilt into 7218 back around 1993, and it eventually was retired in 2011. Sad that GP9s as I knew them are now gone. There used to be hundreds of them on the CN in the '70s.

Great photo Arnold. Do you know if this engine served in Stratford yard at all, around August 1985? I am sure I have an old photo I snapped of it back then.
I don`t know the wanderings of many of the old GPs, Todd. I did not see this one regularly, but rather the lower numbered 4500s, from 4510 to 4530s in the mid 1970s and later the 4560-4600s. I would imagine they were stationed all over the place. (I recall 4500 in Wpg) Fort Erie used to have a good dozen of them at any time, which I thoroughly enjoyed. By 1985 most had been scattered to other localities, with GP40s and SW1200s and the like working Fort Erie.
Great capture Arnold. I was only 7 days old!
