Did you smell the paint? lol.
He was going a bit fast for that. I remember taking b&w pictures of SW1200 8151 in July 1960. It was on the Trenton way freight and had stopped at the station. In that case you could smell the paint. The unit was only a few days out of GMD.
Seems as though GMD units that get trucked through Toronto depending on the routing were fresh from being signed off at the Test House. I’m sure points west of London got to smell a whole load of paint.
Very early days, before the headlights got shifted to the nose.

the “in between” days. The headlight has yet to be relocated, but the flag holders are now off the nose & on the upper front cab sides.
