Caption: London GMD built SW9 TH&B #58 is switching the Maple Leaf Mill in Port Colborne. In the background between the locomotive exhausts you can see the 750' Stack for the International Nickel Company, and the ship breaking operations of International Marine Salvage. Being broken up at the time was the Arthur B. Homer, sister ship to the famous Edmund Fitzgerald, and at 807' long it was too large to enter the Welland Canal lock system. TH&B #58 was sold to ATLAS SPECIALITY STEELS in Nov. 1988, and then resold to Brandywine Valley RR to switch the LUKENS STEEL plant in Pennsylvania.
