Late in the day, a former Penn Central, and later Conrail GP38 is found working the west end of lower yard. Within 30 minutes the sun would be gone, and the work would continue at PDI Elizabeth on the east end of the under darkness. According to my sources, this unit was the first of four units (PC 7904 - 7907) to receive extended front cabs, dual control stands, and no dynamic braking. The dual control stand; one on each side of the cab, allows for easier operation when travelling long hood forwards.Unit's history: Built Penn Central 7904, 1971; Conrail 7904, 1976; CSX 1979, 1999; LLPX 2044, 2000; NECR 3840, circa 2006; RLHH 2117, 2018. The other three GP38s still seem to be kicking around:PC 7905, to CR 7905, CSX ?, Missouri and Northern Arkansas - MNAR 3898, now Chicago, Fort Wane and Eastern - CFE 2099 (G&W).PC 7906, to CR 7906, NS 2947, NS 5632 (GP38-2).PC 7907, to CR 7907, GMTX 2652, GMTX 2689, painted for Winchester and Western.
