Caption: Late afternoon, around 1800 hrs, when eastbound VIA #76 rolled to a stop at Burlington, the sun angle was very harsh. As a result, I often spent time sitting on whatever was available over on the north side of the Oakville sub to catch #76 when it rolled in. This is in the very early days of VIA, so CN's 4017 and 4104 provided the power, followed by that all-important steam jenny. I think this particular shot was of a weekday train. Many of my notes from winter/spring 1978 were lost, unfortunately. Maybe the cat ate them.
