Knowing Heritage Unit 184 was on 97 yesterday, I expected just a regular unit to be leading 97 today. Much to everyone's surprise, when 822 appeared, everyone was a little surprised. I don't think we've ever had two different heritage units within two days here, which made for certainly a rare catch

  1. Well, you certainly picked a great angle to shoot from.

  2. Thank ya, I always liked it from up there and certainly picked a good time to shoot from there today haha

  3. My Wife & I rode behind this unit (#822) AND Amtrak 156 (pointless arrow heritage unit) on the Southwest Chief on our return trip from California in 2014. I thought it was pretty neat to have two heritage units on the point of our train: http://northamericabyrail.info/california-state-railroad-museum/1109-amtrak-p40dc-822-on-the-point-of-the-southwest-chief-albuquerque-nm-2/

  4. That’s pretty awesome. I’ve never shot 156 before.

  5. You should join the FPON Yahoo group. I posted a heads up about this last night!

Glad you got it though, nice shot!

  6. I’m part of it, just didn’t check this morning as I was late getting out the door. Made for quite a nice surprise though lol, and thank you!!

  7. Great shot Docta! For sure a great angle to capture this surprise.

  8. Thanks Paul! I’ll be shooting a few GO’s on this hill as well sometime.
