Caption: Just passing through!!! CN's two G-12s, 991 and 992, are shown in Capreol, Ontario on their way west to their new home on Vancouver Island. The units were built for the London and Port Stanley Railroad in 1955 and 1957. 991 ex L&PS L4 built 8/1955 b/n A832 (some sources show the b/n as A831) and 992 ex L&PS L5 built 7/1957 b/n A1324. Both units acquired by CN on January 1,1966 and retired in 1976 and scrapped. Of note are the different trucks and cabs on the units.

It should be noted that after retirement, both were sent out east to CN’s Newfoundland operations to serve as parts units for their G8 fleet. 991 lasted until at least 1978 (if not later) at Port Aux Basques, and 992 may have been kept at St. Johns.
different trucks and window treatment.. saw pix of units alone but not like this so easy to see small differences
