Caption: Just another day in what was my personal paradise back then. CP coming over from the States, rumbling thru the NF tourist district and then past me at the South Siding Switch Montrose on its way to Toronto. The sun is setting, and you can see indications of that on the left high up in the trees. Lighting was often very tricky in town.
With the removal of the track thru the city in the early 2000s, this location is now just a switch back for the Chippawa local to access industry in the area. Just as well. In the continual desire to rake in more money, the city of Niagara Falls has imposed "No Stopping" on the open pull-off area here. Heaven forbid somebody should be able to park anywhere for free !!!
Power on this train is CP 3060, 3090, 8205 and 8243. First two units still on CP roster, second pair are not.

Love the grassy area next to the tracks here Mr Mooney. One could practice their putts while waiting for the next train. Love how they drop off the one locomotive here now for the switch. Good stuff as always.
Practise their….gasp, gag, yech….sorry, I am not a golfer, but I know what you mean. It looks a lot nicer than it actually was. Now, of course, this is the new era wherein it is just a bunch of weeds, bumps, straggled grass and litter. It was getting so bad for awhile that me, a license plate collector, almost wanted to suggest “Yours To Discover” should be replaced with “Yours To Litter” as thats what the people do.
