I've said it before, and I will say it again, I don't mind solo GEVOs so much, especially when they're in somewhat novel situations. The 2810 is solo here, wobbling its way down the Chemical Spur back to Port Rob after lifting Oxy Vinyls. A thanks to Mark for the heads up on this one. I was down in Fort Erie shooting the Wabash when CN went over to Oxy and I made it just in time for the return trip. In all my excursions to Port Rob I had yet to ever see this move (as it is normally handled at night by 564), so it was greatly appreciated.

  1. Cool! I’m surprised a 6-axle unit is even allowed on that track…look at the condition of it in the foreground! Glad you captured this.

  2. Yeah it’s neat to see, dramatized a bit by telephoto compression, but definitely a wobbly run nonetheless. Definitely see six axle power down there on CN in places where you wouldn’t expect to see it. Even makes the GEVOs entertaining.

  3. The Oxy Vinyl switcher itself has derailed on the crossing outside the plant and the road is closed. News as of this morning.
