Caption: I've been enjoying doing long exposures at night a lot lately, and had been thinking about where to go next to try this. Eventually, I landed on the thought of the OSR shops in Salford and inquired about getting permission to do so. I had finally gotten a remote for my shutter, which allowed me to attempt some much longer exposures for the first time. This was a good thing, because even with an almost full moon in the southern sky, it was still dark as can be behind the shops in Salford. This shot was a near six minute exposure. One thing I really enjoyed seeing with exposure lengths like this was the paths of the stars across the sky, especially the Big Dipper.

Fabulous Jamie. What was the light source in the background?
Thanks Keith! The shops have some pretty bright lights on the outside of them. Did absolutely nothing on this side of the power, though. If the clouds were passing over the moon, the shots were considerably darker and six minute exposures weren’t even coming close to cutting it. I now see the moon in a totally different “light”. Haha.
Very well done James.
This is enjoyable
Out of your many night shots, this one is a dandy.
Another excellent night shot – Awesome!
Thanks guys! I have the most fun doing them – glad you enjoy ‘em too.
