It's been 15 years since I caught my last plow train and when word slipped OSR was running one down the old Port Burwell I found it hard to believe. We had only received maybe 10 cm of snow in the area. Hardly enough in my mind for a plow run to be worth it. Low and behold a drive over to Salford early in the morning revealed OSR crews having readied the plow with their pair of F units. There were sections of the track that had drifted over the railhead and I tried to seek a location that had potential for some good action but at bay from other photographers. My first shot of the day came a few miles south of Salford as the engineer aboard 6508 accelerated plow 401005 into a mildly drifted section of the sub. Goes to show you don't need a lot of snow to come out with a decent action shot of a plow.

  1. Nice effort, Dave. At first I thought, :where the heck is there any snow”? … having forgotten living in the “banana belt” of Niagara means we do not see as much of that stuff here.

  2. Great action shot. Wings out, nose down, throttle pulled back.

  3. Very nice, Dave.
