Its a nice sunny afternoon, and suits and staff are just coming out to check out the brand new ONR SD75I, the GMD unit that is going to hustle in a new era of locomotive efficiency on the railroad. The engine was on display at Englehart, and then was run up to Cochrane for another Open House. Spiffy looking unit, but I was rather surprised at $2.8 m each, or whatever they were, that a/c was optional!! So this #2100 was the first of six that would operate on the railroad, and sadly enough, this is the only one that has been scrapped. It was involved in a wreck in 2011 and subsequently retired.

  1. Every glad hand out the front has its keeper on. How often do you see that? :-) Nice picture Arnold.
