It was sure nice to actually see bright red on a CP locomotive for a change when CP 246 passed me in Milton, and so the chase was on. I decided on this picture as the sun finally poked out from between the clouds. Here, CP 246 lead by a completely refurbished CP 9727 with its faded mate in CP 8755 glide out from under Highway 6 approaching the Newman Road overpass on the way to Desjardins.

  1. Definately a comparison! I like the ‘new’ red….nice and bright. At least for now. Nice catch. Nothing like a chase :)

  2. Cool, it even has steerable trucks. Not as common as they once were.

  3. Nice to see a clean leader. Wonder how that happened? This must be the first ‘interesting’ #246 in many a moon.

  4. CP seems to be back to faded red a lot lately. Good thing it rained to wash some of them.
