It was an interesting day as a NS train behind 8688 & 6570 had just left the yard heading west, and in comes a transfer from the States with, of all things, D&H, N&W, D&H for power. I was caught off guard, having just followed the NS w/b as far as CN Duff. Too bad it was late enough in the day the sun was on the far side and the crew had the audacity to park the train short of the office, depriving me of a much better image. Power is D&H 373 (formerly D&H 7404), N&W 8038 and D&H 7323; alongside CN yard switcher 7317. The unattractive paint scheme on the leader reflects the current D&H owner, Guilford Transportation. Landmark Niagara water tower is seen on the right. I would have liked to walk over to the far side for a better photo, but I KNEW I was being watched. :o)

  1. Classic image! So sad visiting Fort Erie these days.

  2. That is a beauty… even post glory days in Fort Erie (ie. after they closed the CN Shops)… agree on the terrible Guilford paint scheme, that was an “ugo”…
