Caption: It really bugs me that I have misplaced my notes. It was one of those mid-week occasions in which I had the day off and the junction mostly to myself. I DO remember a passenger train not showing up when expected, but I cannot recall which one. This is most likely #73 on the south track very late catching the #83 that used to run mid-afternoon. However, I would have expected the VIA 6507 to overtake the #83, (led by VIA 6903) but that didn't appear to be the case as the trains rolled out of sight westbound over Hwy 403 thru Hamilton West.(On the schedule, 73 was 1 1/2 hrs ahead of 83) A most unusual image for me, and I was very lucky to be standing where I was, totally unaware the 6507 was on the heels of the 6903. Some days are like that. Incidentally, in the foreground one can see where ties had just been lifted from what used to be the old 'helper track' from steam era days.

Great shot Arnold. That helper track….wasn’t it in for when they’d keep a diesel there after the Steam Era?
MoW equipment kept there off and on as needed.

HAHA @Snake. VIA is not until the fall my friend. I have taken the summer off. I deserve a little time after 36 yrs on the rails. I do miss it though!!
