It is one of those damp snowy sloppy days at the old Burlington West (Freeman) station. Eastbound VIA 6762 is making a stop. I am wondering if this is the mid-morning #84. These days the area is now barren, as the station was moved over to Fairview Av., preserved as a museum. The opening of the large GO facility just to the east made the Burlington West station redundant.

  1. Now that is a gem – really plucks at the strings of nostalgia.

  2. Globe & Mail box excite you? :o )

  3. I still enjoy finding newspaper boxes in service. There is one on Charlton Ave in Hamilton still in service. I buy one every once in a while. They are rarely used anymore.

  4. My favorite spot to give away the “flimsies” to the railfans at this station. I remember those hot summer nights where the “foamers” (yes i am a proud member) were lined up in their lawn chairs, checking out all the action on the Oakville and Halton Subs. Those were the days my friend!!
