It’s seems lately just about every CP train around here comes with a story. Today’s train 135 was no different. When I woke up I gave up hope on catching it as it was already nearing Guelph Junction. As luck would have it for me the train would still during the climb up the Niagara Escarpment forcing the train to eventually double itself up the grade around noon. Hearing it had two very different SD70’s (CP SD70ACU and UP SD70M) was enough to make the trek from Mississauga worthwhile. Here the second cut is being backed onto the first cut as the train is being put back together at Guelph Junction. The green vest of the brakeman can be seen in the distance and once the train is reconnected a high rail track will bring him back to the head end. Their departure will find train 137 hot on their tail. Hopefully they did stall again before reaching Wolverton.

  1. Nice shot, it’s always nice to shoot an EMD leader on CP these days.
