I’m surprised the one lasted so late with the tongue and groove rather than plywood.
Original idea was to save $$ on labour replacing the many separate pieces of tongue and groove.
Plywood turned out to be a poor choice. Water got in behind it and rotted wood beneath.
Vans used to get a 7 year shopping in West Toronto Car Shops to replace old rotted and damaged wood. I saw uprights spliced with new portions of wood rather than a full 2 x 4 etc. Carpenters replaced only what needed to be replaced.
