Inspired by A.W. Mooney's recent photo showing the old art-deco THB station in Hamilton, I last photographed the station (street side) ten years after Mr. Mooney's photo showing it still under renovation as Hamilton's newest GO Transit station. This station was built around the height of the Great Depression, and it was a marvel for it's time. Not only for it's modernized art-deco appearance, but also because the TH & B also oversaw the whole construction of elevating it's trackage through downtown Hamilton to eliminate congestion along some of Hamilton's busiest thoroughfares in which the TH & B used to have level crossings at.

  1. This is a classic as far as stations go. I often wondered what such a unique station was doing in a ho-hum city like Hambone.

  2. Very nice Todd. To this day the THB RY CO. lettering remains on the station. Surprised it isn’t gone.
