Caption: In this photo we have Canadian Pacific train 21 from Montreal and Toronto changing to New York Central power at the "Michigan Central" Windsor station (known in CN-CP days as CN "Windsor South"). CP power is a pair of passenger RS10s (8479 and 8469); NYC power is three GP7s (5819, 5825, and an unidentified unit). In 1962, this train originated in Montreal at 10:15 PM and arrived in Toronto at 7:00 AM, traveling via Peterborough. It departed Toronto at 8:00 AM and arrived in Windsor at 1:30 PM, departing at 1:40 after the power change and arriving in Detroit 10 minutes later. (This train also handled sleeping cars for Hamilton which were transferred to train 321 departing Toronto at 8:05.) According to the 1962 public timetable: "Drawing Rooms, Compartments, Bedrooms, Roomettes, Duplex Roomettes, Standard Berths, Meal Service. Parlor Car (meal service) on trains 21 and 22 between Toronto and Windsor." At one time, there was through sleeper service to Chicago but, by the time of this photo, passengers had to change to a 5:15 PM departure for Chicago. In 1962, CP had three trains in each direction between Toronto and Windsor. Two round trips were covered by Dayliners (Budd RDCs). The conventional train third trip was changed to an RDC in April 1964.
