Great shot Marc. Still think you should have tried the other photo. Still…good angle and really decent light. Good job!
What other photo?
Marc had also posted these on Facebook. I was trying to encourage him to post a different shot of the train a little further back on the line….but giving off a lot of exhaust as it was building up momentum….or the hogger was putting on a show for him. Marc still posted a great shot
Choosing the best shot is the hardest part. Sadly, on this site we want what the Photographer considers their best shot.
Just love the fractionation towers in the background. The one furnace is a monster by the size of the stack on it. With another one just to the left of the flare. Amazing stuff.
Ahh Lance you might enjoy a trip to Sarnia then.
There’s about six large chemical plants in town, and about six more outside of town. Three LARGE refineries and a couple small ones… it’s chemical city.
Here in Alberta, which I’m sure is the same in Ontario, any place with this type of industry is actively served by railroads. When you get the 2 combined in a photo, to me, its a natch.
Your reference to “Chemical City” is a term I have heard often from Ontario people when they have come to Alberta to work.
LOL, they usually tell us to stay away from Sarnia.
