Caption: In response to Geoff Elliott's recently posted great photos of the CSX in the early 90's - I submit some far away CSX Branchline action - as far as you could get from Sarnia when I started to pay attention. Seen here is the sprawling W.G. Thompson facility at Blenheim, being switched by train D724 (Chatham to Blenheim, return to Sarnia). A few neat details found in this scene
* Ancient tall Switchstand, likely dates to building of the line and found throughout the former #1 Subdivision * Dwarf signal - remnant of CTC which was installed on the former #1 Subdivision from Pelton to Ridgetown (MBS/OCS from Ridgetown to St. Thomas) - CTC removed sometime in the mid 90's * W.G Thompson was set up to load unit trains, and did so a few times per year with just about anything from the CSX roster. Unit train loading has ceased upon CN taking over Blenheim in Feb '06.
Looking foward to others who share mainline and branchline action from the CSX, Chessie System, C&O and possibly the Pere Marquette in Canada - we're more than just CN and CP, right? :)

Where’s the dwarf signal?? I only see an electric lock.
Oops – Thanks. Looks tall enough for a dwarf, has a cover on the east facing side too, but i’m no signals and trackwork expert!
