Caption: In repsonse to Jason Noe's incredible shot from back in 1996, here is virtually the same shot but in 2020, 24 years later. On occasion OSR's second job would switch Owens Corning later in the day. As Jason stated on his photo, this meant light was virtually perfect. This shot is the last time the yard job would service Owens Corning, and the last time OSR pulled a car out of Owens Corning. Amazing to see all this time later, MLW's were still servicing the plant.
Although operations at Owens Corning have been severely reduced. Nowadays they get one car a week and the second siding inside the facility is no longer used. Even still, for a long period of time recently Owens Corning received no rail cars, so anything is welcome for us railfans.

Awesome photo Drew. It’s so fitting an MLW did the last OSR run into Owens Corning.
At one time this factory supposedly couldn’t shutdown. They ran 365 days a year. They were running low on product one time in the late 1970s around Christmas, and a CP through freight crew had to park their train at Guelph Jct and run a hopper car up to Guelph and spot it in the that plant.
