In late May 1978, one of ONR's TEE train sets was in southern Ontario on display during Belleville's Railway Week festivities. To return the equipment to Toronto, and then north, the UCRS arranged an excursion from Belleville over the Campbellford and Uxbridge Subdivisions, taking the unusual equipment to places it typically wouldn't be seen. Here the train pauses on Bethune Street in Peterborough at the site of the former CN station.

  1. Thanks for sharing this. I have a crappy photo of this run approaching the “new” station south of town.

  2. Very interesting

  3. Eric;;Were you on this trip asI was.

  4. It’s hard to imagine a railway track having ever been on Bethune, aside from the northbound side being extra wide.

  5. We were not on this trip. We lived in Peterborough at the time.
