Caption: In another shot of the Bathurst Street bridge reconstruction work in 1963-1964, TTC PCC 4393 (A6-class, built 1947-48) heads southbound on Bathurst Street south of Front, operating on temporary track laid on the west side of the bridge for southbound streetcars (the actual southbound track in the foreground was being used for northbound streetcars, while the two right lanes were closed and being redone). Note the relatively undisturbed snow on the bridge, as it was only open for streetcars and closed to regular automobile traffic.

The property to the northwest of the bridge behind the streetcar, once home to the Consumers Gas Company (one of their old coal gas manufacturing facilities, that had two very large gasometer tanks on site), was now home of the Kaufman Metal Company and the Toronto Refiners & Smelters Co. Visible in the distance is the Laura Secord candies building around Wellington. A keen eye would pick out something out of place here: a set of railway crossbucks. Those were for a industrial spur that lead across Bathurst Street (and the streetcar tracks at-grade via diamonds) to get to the Bathurst Tool building on the east side of Bathurst north of Front. As far as I can tell, this spur fell out of use sometime in the 1950's and was removed in the early-mid 60's, although I haven't found any decent shots of streetcars crossing it.
