The “Danger Bell” crossing was pointed out to me the first time I worked up the Goderich line in 1973. For those unaware it was so named because it featured an unusual signal with a crossbuck, bell & illuminated glass panel with the word “Danger” spelled out on it. There was only the one signal, the other side had a typical inanimate crossbuck. The oddball signal was replaced before 1981, with standard flashing lights & bell setup. The removed signal was saved, at least for a time, as it was featured in a Signal Dept display at CP’s Family Day at Quebec Street in 1981.
I should add, the name for the crossing stuck and doid at least until the end of OSR’s tenure on the line.
