I'm out on that little walkbridge at mile 1, Dundas Sub. The routine for the steel train #725 (to Nanticoke) was to enter the Dundas sub off the Cowpath out of Hamilton and head west on the north track. Well, to my disappointment, it ran on the south; and also a GP9 trailing. I guess the usual third member of the A-B-A set must have been ailing (#9177). So we end up with A-B-GP; CN 9166, 9195 and 4572. Still, a welcome shot. The good days for the Nanticoke train must have been coming to a close because the next day 4520 subbed for the 9195. Fun while it lasted. Image: Speed Graphic 4x5 inch T-Max 400 B/W film shot at 200 f11.

  1. Interesting in B&W.These were the interesting times on CN

  2. Oh those F’s….miss these units. Loved them since I was knee high to a grasshopper watching them from a distance travel along the Newton Sub. at Listowel, and seeing them at Palmerston. Even saw them run the Nanticoke train in Caledonia on the Hagersville Sub late 80′s…last time I saw those units lead a train.

  3. The Art of Photography. Truly ‘pops’.
    sdfourty.

  4. (smiles) B/W I loved for station structures, but not so much for trains moving thru overwhelming foliage. :o )
