I'm just guessing but looking at the engineer in the passing CP 5735 (5618) he is greeting the crew of a Work train getting ready to head south once he clears.
The RS-18 #8747 must have been a hardy soul. After rebuild it became RS18u #1845. Then it eventually was dealt off to the upstart New Brunswick East Coast, retaining its number; and when CN bought the line back in 2008, the unit was shipped to the Adirondack Scenic in 2010, where it was repainted into their lively scheme and pressed into service.
