I remember being out on this beautiful early spring day thinking about how nice the weather was and how scarce the trains were. Often, that is the way it goes. The station has been upgraded with the 'VIA' signs (and now no VIA serves here)and an addition on the far end used to house a Bingo works, but now is home to some sort of church. Out front has been altered for the seasonal GO Transit service. Sperry Rail Services does a south track inspection. Other than a CN track-car, thats all I logged that long ago morning.........

  1. “and how scarce the trains were” Nothing’s changed too much in nearly 40 years.

  2. And you also got the green “Punch Buggy” :)

  3. Love those Sperry cars, miss them greatly :(

  4. I don’t understand that little green jalopy. A few weeks earlier I was in Barrie and a little jalopy just like that was parked there at Allandale, too. Same ugly green. Co-incidence?

  5. So this not your mode of transportation back then??

  6. Hah!! I’d never go near one of those heaps, even though a lot of guys liked them. About 4 years before this shot I was going out with a woman who drove a Beetle. She was involved in a head on crash. After what she went thru, I vowed I would never drive a car with no protection up front. She got hit by a drunk.
