Caption: I recall a recording of Christmas Specials from when I was a child, and in between were commercials from the late 1980s. One commercial, about selling snowmobiles, had a line in it, "it's winter in Paul Sadlon country." Well, that's near Barrie. But this is another Ontario snowbelt location, near Hensall, Ontario in "Ontario's West Coast." Appropriately named as it is the region in Ontario just east of Lake Huron, another snow machine in the winter months.
It is one week until Christmas, and the scene is very representative of those classic Christmas winter scenes. There is an exception. Those orange and black locomotives of parent G&W. This is GEXR during a lake effect snow period. Trumbling along the GEXR Exeter Sub, light power, is GEXR 581 on its way to Stratford to end their day. Here it is pictured crossing Kippen Road just outside the community of Kippen.
