Nice. Now that’s probably the best lashup you’ll get on the Waterloo Sub! Great catch! Not a single Eco unit in there.
What a great shot. It looks more like 20 years ago than todays.
Just thinking….when I become a brittle antique one of those units looks like it could be a nice place to live !!!
64 years ago, same spot:

Remarkable comparison. Just imagine how great that old shot would have been with today’s telephoto capabilities. Back then, in order to zoom in and out, you had to use your feet. Quite the handicap if you had nowhere to run. )
Really great shot Bill. I’ve never seen five GP38-2′s together on the Waterloo Sub before!
One step forward and I would have been in the Speed River.
Noe there’s been a 5 pack off/on this job for a while now. The SOO 4410 was in Hagey at 0910 today also. It leads one day and doesn’t the next…. it’s a fickle unit. Not sure why
One foreman at Galt station said they have been having issues with that old piece of garbage. Ones man treasure!
It needs an overhaul, too many original parts on it
Why so much power? Very nice.
Mountain grade(s) on the CPR Waterloo subdivision with long trains, leaves, curves, and wet rails basically.
Thanks for the information on the current motive power happenings on the line Steve.
It’s back on the Hagey job and was assigned to it by mid last week, a day or two after this photo. It Might get taken off tomorrow too, T72 set off a unit in the Fergus in Galt to be lifted by tomorrow’s T97 which doesn’t bode well, but 50/50 chance.
T97 ran today from Hagey, upon arrival at Galt they lifted CP 3119 off the CN Fergus and put 4410 in the middle.
Telling y’all it’s the unit crews love to hate. Leads one day, not the next. Hot potato.
The other thing – why the GP38-2′s? I’m told all of the ECO’s are going to the US for PTC territory, hence, we’re getting all the older junk.
I don’t mind this at all. Yesterday’s T72 had FIVE gp38-2′s and not a single one of them had an e-bell…
