Caption: I often wondered how they did it. Five hours late getting to Parry Sound from Toronto. It doesn't even TAKE five hours to get to Parry Sound. But once again, and I saw this quite a few times, the train was very late. Due in at 1800; this image was taken somewhere after 2300 and again the train was having problems. Middle unit...so they had a 'time out' at the Parry CP station. I do not recall any passengers waiting. So I went out for a photo as I was at the station for 1800 and the agent and I shared pizza so the time went by nicely. The plan now was a night shot via tripod but somehow I got all wrapped up in yakking and forgot the mosquitoes were ferocious once the sun went down. So this image is a very careful hand held effort. Power is x-CP 1416, CP 8563 (RS-10) and x-CP 1422. The RS-10, ret'd by 1983, was sandwiched by a pair of FP7As, the leader ret'd by 1983 and the trailing unit became VIA 6566 in 1980. Around the headlight, that is not scarring or neg defects you see....that is the swarm of bugs, and they were everywhere!!!
