I love the old hunch back original Dash-8's, especially the former N&W ones with the plated out nose headlight housing. By this date the surviving ones had new nose grab irons installed and ditch lights on both ends, although the long hood was technically the front of the unit. Former N&W 8566 has just pulled off the Stamford sub. and was now in the process of backing into CN's now removed Niagara Falls yard. This move allowed the single unit to be nose forward later for the trip back to Buffalo. the track in the foreground served the now repurposed lumber yard behind me. Today both tracks in the foreground are removed leaving only one track, and NS only goes as far as Fort Erie today for its interchange.
