I had two choices on this day; shoot the CP 420 that Michael Delic has posted at Beeton, or go after CN X371 with an SD40-2W leading. Hmmm. Easy choice, X371 was a lot closer to home and I haven't shot an SD40-2W leading in a few years. So I wound up shooting this train at four locations, including one of my favourite haunts, here at Beare, where they're into the ruling grade for westbound freights between Montreal and Toronto. It not a pair of GP9's, but the 5348 and 5723 still sounded great lifting X371 up the hill. 1345hrs.
