I don't know the year, late 1960s, we were on so many of the CN 6218 excursions. Location is obvious to many, going over the Burlington Canal Left Bridge for a runpass when the Beach Sub. was still intact...and had a reasonable speed limit, judging by the slight blur of the engine marker. I think the shadow was caused by the locomotive exhaust.

  1. This is incredible, I’ve gone over this bridge thousands of times and never knew there was a line that went over it! Amazing..

  2. Can anyone pinpoint the date of this photo? Thanks for sharing!

  3. Beautiful locomotive. What’s not to like?

  4. Thanks, Dave Sherlock for the link. Your post didn’t work but I was able to Google it and find the document.

  5. There’s a bracket at the beginning of the link which shouldn’t be there.

  6. I fixed the link. There was much more than a bracket that could be removed. It’s much shorter now. It’s a link to a UCRS fantrip newsletter – very worth a read.

Dave and gang – the UCRS Hamilton Chapter still meets on the fourth Friday of the month at the People’s Church in Hamilton at 7:30 PM. There should be another meeting in June then a summer break.

  7. And Bob still comes to these meetings…
