Caption: I am throwing this photo out to the viewers of RP in hopes that someone can fill me in on just what this scene was all about. My notes, after now 38 years, have been lost, as well as my recollection of the incident. I believe it was an eastbound Conrail (PC) that derailed. But not sure. Never did see the power. All I got to see was this mess below the Grand River bridge at Cayuga, piled up in the ice. After much looking around, there was really no way to photograph this but go back from where I was and drive up the east side of the river to what was Townline Road E., and walk. It was bitter cold with a strong wind blowing from the NorthWest, and the snow was about a foot deep. I guessed I walked a half mile. Right up the middle of a frozen river. And I noticed I was the only one that did. So came away with several pictures similar to this one. Can anyone shed some light on this wreck? THANKS!
