Caption: HLCX SD40-2 6210 and CP SD40-2 5731 lead a eastbound/northbound freight alongside Highway 403 at Desjardins near Hamilton Junction. Lease unit HLCX 6210 was formerly BC Rail 742 (pictured still in its old paint), and originally built for the Kennecott Copper Company as KCC 107. Trailing unit CP 5731 sports the new "System" or "Dual Flags" livery that CP introduced in 1993, in part to put greater emphasis on its Canadian and American rail network (now owning the SOO Line, MILW and D&H operations in the US. The shade of red used was SOO's Candy Apple Red).
The first car following the power is CP 84999, part of a group of 50' newsprint cars that CP added extra height to to accommodate double-stacking newsprint rolls inside.

Taken from the 403 highway. Another trust Reg to do this.
This is a neat photo. It was incredibly rare for a CP leaser to lead during this part of the CP rent-a-wreck era.
