Nice! I actually caught this down the line at Merriton the same day.
Yup. 524 was about 15 minutes behind it. Used to go to Beamsville a lot with my papa when I was younger, and remember when there were three tracks in the Ontario Street pavement still. Now that I’m older, I don’t expect easy treatment by CN police if they ever showed up so I stay out of the MOW parking lot.
Be interesting to see how this area changes in the next decade with GO. Rumour is many crossings will be grade separated (which would probably include Ontario Street). Supposedly many of the lesser used crossings typically used by farmers will be blocked off entirely. Sounds unrealistic, but Niagara’s dense rural road structure would allow for that without massive inconvenience, though it would still piss off a lot of farmers.

GO will grade separate as much as they can, in time. It’ll take one or two decades to make progress though, so don’t hold your breath. Lots will change down there in that timeframe including scenes like this.
I also heard they’re increasing GO service on the Guelph Sub. Already a lot has changed here in K-W and beyond, and I’m sure more will. Right now, I’m doing an environmental/geotechnical investigation for Aldershot GO parking expansion. Drivers park all along Masonry Ct now. It’s good to see more riders though. Let’s keep investing in rail infrastructure!
