Here's another view of the defunct crossing control tower and transfer shed by the CPR Galt / CNR Milton sub looking South towards the old CNR Milton station and Robertson plant. The buildings became obsolete when CNR built the highline by-passing the whole area. Taken from my fathers collection.

  4. Great image, thanks for posting it. I think I mentioned it before on another photo from this location, I was on the first CP westbound after the diamond was lifted, that was in the middle of the night. The bulletin advising of the change was issued a few days later. So, when we rounded the corner the two rusty rails that replace the diamond made it look like there was a huge gap in the rail, but we were getting our “run for the hill” and going too fast to do anything about it anyway. When we got close enough, we could see what they’d done. I should note that the large interlocking tower was still there when I started on CP, I’m not sure when it was demolished.
