Caption: Here's a surprise I wasn't expecting to see in my text messages when I woke up this morning. CP 140 with 10 ex TRE Budd RDCs dead-in-two on the tail end. 2017 has been the year for RDCs for me with VIA running a set down here for a week in May and now 10 of them on a CP train. Trinity Railway Express is a commuter line in the Dallas/Fort Worth Texas area so these RDC have had quite the journey. I have no idea where they're heading to other than they were set off in Walkerville Yard due to rule violations. I'm not sure what rules are being violated but it could be that they should be up at the head end with the power. We'll see what happens with them tomorrow.

Awesome shot Mike. They are still in Walkerville today.
Nice catch, Mike.
Thanks guys! I found out today they are going to Vermont.
Not sure there’s a rule being broken, but usually such equipment has an empty freight car behind it to ensure the last car has functioning brakes, should the train part. I don’t know what the air brake situation is on these, but they have been trainlined over the years on CP passenger trains, used as coaches. It is better for them they be on the rear on a heavy train, the head end would put a lot of strain on the drawbars.
